Diving in Egypt

Egypt’s reefs are overflowing over with life; vivid corals and clouds of fish amaze with a kaleidoscope of colour. Stating that the waters here are serene and clear seems like a bit of an understatement. Egypt offers the full scheme of diving opportunities; wrecks, walls, drifts, pinnacles, shore dives, day boats and liveaboards too. There are sites appropriate for all levels and some fine areas to learn in addition to exhilarating open ocean sites for the more advanced diver. The Red Sea gets its name from the sporadic algae blooms that take place seasonally, painting the sea with a reddish hue. It is a diver’s heaven, not only because of the implausible marine life but also due to its crystal clear waters and superb visibility. Egypt has some of the finest dive sites in the earth: the wreck of the Thistlegorm, Yolanda Reef, Elphinstone and Brothers Islands are among them.
