El Aruk Giftun
Also known as: El Aruk · Al Aruk · Aruk Tweil · Shaab Kweiss · The Magic Mushrooms
Seen from above, the ergs stand like a field of mushrooms on the seabed, which explains one of the site's nicknames. Divers Hurghada counts seven ergs at Aruk Diana in the south-west, seven at Aruk Giftun in the middle and eleven in a close line at Aruk Gigi in the north-east, and Egypt Dive mentions more than forty pinnacles in total. With so many similar towers it is easy to lose orientation, so guides pick a central erg, such as the split erg at Aruk Diana, as a reference. Several kinds of moray eel live here, along with napoleon wrasse, bluespotted rays, crocodilefish and scorpionfish. One erg at Aruk Giftun has a grotto full of glassfish, lionfish and scorpionfish.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
