Aruk Talata
Also known as: El Arouk Talata
Aruk Talata lies on a flat of about 10 m close to Magawish island, a short boat ride south of Hurghada, and it is sheltered and shallow. The main ergs carry a cleaning station where barracuda wait for cleaner wrasse, while bluespotted stingrays rest on the sand around their bases. Divers who swim on in a straight line from the ergs reach two smaller coral formations that hold more life than the ergs themselves, and eagle rays sometimes appear there. Anemones with clownfish, schools of goatfish, glassfish, moray eels, octopus and cuttlefish are typical sights. Currents are usually weak, so the site suits beginners and underwater photographers.
