Abu Ghusun
Also known as: Abu Ghusoun · Abu Ghuson Wreck · Abu Ghosun Wreck · Abu Ghusum · Hamada Wreck
The Hamada was carrying polyethylene from Jeddah to Suez when it struck the Abu Ghusun reef in 1993. After a short swim from the beach divers reach the stern, and the bridge, rudder and intact propeller are the most striking parts. Soft and hard corals have colonised the hull, and groupers, Napoleon wrasse, turtles and moray eels live around it. Parts of the wreck are shallow enough for snorkellers. The neighbouring reef and a seagrass patch add a second dive, and the drive passes through Wadi El Gemal National Park.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
