Bermuda
Bermuda is an isolated North Atlantic archipelago ringed by an extensive coral reef platform that has wrecked ships for centuries, making it one of the world's most noted shipwreck-diving destinations.
Bermuda rises from the Bermuda Platform, with more than 150 limestone islands. The surrounding reef system has historically both sheltered the islands from storms and posed a hazard to shipping, most famously wrecking the flagship Sea Venture in 1609. Divers today can reach numerous wrecks and coral reef sites in relatively shallow water, typically 9-12 metres, with the National Museum of Bermuda documenting dozens of individual wreck sites since 1978.
