Blanche King

Also known as: Blanch King

Launched in Maine in 1887, the schooner had a retractable centreboard keel that let her work in shallow rivers. Little is left of the upper hull, but iron frames with wood attached, rigging cable and deck machinery remain. The box that housed the centreboard can still be seen amidships, and the capstan sits at the bow. The site is buoyed and protected from fishing.
