L'Herminie
All of her nearly 500 officers and crew were brought safely ashore before the ship broke up. The wooden hull is largely gone, but as many as 40 cannons remain, two of them lying crossed over each other. One of her large anchors leans against a coral head, and iron water tanks and small artifacts lie in the sand. The surrounding coral heads rise up to about 30 ft high. The wreck is one of the last French sailing warships built before steam power and is a protected dive site.
