The King

Built in South Carolina in 1941, the King was scuttled in 1984 just before the Hermes, and her position was then lost for almost ten years. The tug lists heavily to starboard with her stern in the sand and her bow on the reef. Storm damage has opened holes in the hull through which divers can look inside, and the pilot house and engine room can be explored. Together with the Forceful, about 100 yards away across a sand channel, she makes a two-wreck dive. The reef and sand holes around her are known for shells and tropical fish.
