Hermes

Abandoned in St. George's Harbour after engine trouble in 1983, the ship was sold to the Bermuda divers' association for one dollar, cleaned and sunk on 15 May 1984. Her hatches were taken off before the sinking, so divers can enter the cargo hold, crew quarters and engine room. The wheelhouse lies about 45 ft below the surface and the mast points toward it. Visibility here is usually excellent, which makes the wreck a favourite with photographers. Schools of barracuda and snapper circle the hull and the reef nearby is in very good condition.
