Cristobal Colon
The liner had no passengers aboard and all 160 crew were rescued, but her furnishings were salvaged and auctioned, and many locals went out at night to loot her. During the Second World War the stranded hull was used for bombing practice, and an unexploded shell can still be seen. Divers find boilers, spare propellers, winches and turbines spread across the seabed. Her rectangular portholes are a rarity among wrecks. Large groupers, barracuda and the occasional turtle live around the wreck.
