North Rock

The protected area covers about 1 km around the beacon and is used by scientists as a reference site for healthy reef. Large purple sea fans, hard and soft corals and coarse pink sand are typical. Three mooring buoys give access to different parts of the reef, which is broken up into maze-like channels with small overhangs. The remains of a tug and of the Crystal Catfish lie near the beacon. The boat ride from the island takes around 50 minutes.
