The Suakin Archipelago is a large group of uninhabited coral islets south of Port Sudan, protected as a national park and known among divers for remote reefs and frequent shark sightings.
The Suakin Archipelago comprises a large group of uninhabited coral islets, protected as Suakin Archipelago National Park covering about 1,500 km2. Among divers the area is known for numerous named reefs with regular sightings of hammerhead and grey reef sharks. The archipelago is recognized by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area, and its waters support sea turtles and dugongs.
