Shaab Ambar
Also known as: Sha'ab Ambar · Sha'ab Amber · Shaab Anbar · Ambar Reef
Shaab Ambar encloses a lagoon where liveaboards anchor overnight, and Don Questo counts it among only two safe anchorages in the area. The lagoon is also used for night dives. On the south-eastern end a sandy plateau at around 25 m hosts surgeonfish, hunting barracuda, large tuna and small whitetip reef sharks on the sand. Where the current allows, schools of hammerheads and grey reef sharks can be seen off the drop-off. Scuba Diving reports a large resident population of bumphead parrotfish in the rough shallows on top of the reef.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
