Hindi Gider
Also known as: Hindi Gidir
Hindi Gider lies about halfway between Port Sudan and Suakin and is easy to spot by its unmanned lighthouse. The north wall drops in small steps and is covered in hard and soft corals and large fan gorgonians, with cleaning stations in its crevices. Whitetip, blacktip and hammerhead sharks are encountered there. South of the lighthouse on the east side a colourful garden of soft tree corals hangs from overhangs. Tuna and silvertip sharks can be seen in the open water, and Dive The World notes that hawksbill turtles nest on the beaches.
