Potlatch State Park
Potlatch State Park is a campground and day-use park often used as a base for Sund Rock weekends. Divers enter anywhere along the shore and swim toward the mooring buoys, where the bottom drops off at about 30 ft and continues as a steep silty slope past 100 ft. Sea pens, moon snails, sea stars, nudibranchs and occasional flatfish live on the sand, and giant Pacific octopus and sea cucumbers are regularly reported. Explore Hood Canal calls it the ideal first Hood Canal dive, with showers to rinse gear. Visibility can drop during spring algae blooms and after heavy rain.
