Jorsted Creek
Also known as: Jorstad Creek · Jorstead Creek
Jorsted Creek offers several dives in one: shallow walls and rock piles at about 40 to 60 ft and deeper walls and rock piles from about 100 to 130 ft. Cracks and crevices make ideal dens for octopus and wolf eels, and large lingcod, rockfish, oysters and rock scallops are common, with plumose anemones on the shallow reefs. Shore divers park at a small turnout on Highway 101 for three or four cars and climb down a steep slope, which Explore Hood Canal says involves scrambling down tree roots. Tide and current are of little concern according to a Zentacle contributor.
