Padang Bai Jetty

Also known as: Jetty

The pier was built for cruise ships but never used for berthing, and divers reach it in a few minutes by boat from Padang Bai harbour. The bottom is a gentle slope of white sand with debris and artificial structures such as the frames of old fishing boats. The concrete pillars are covered in gorgonians and soft corals and shelter juvenile fish and their predators. Critter highlights include rhinopias, giant frogfish, bent pipefish, Pegasus sea moths, blue-ringed octopus, demon stingers and many nudibranchs. Schools of snappers and batfish and some groupers bring larger life.
