La Parguera

Puerto Rico

La Parguera is a well-known diving region on Puerto Rico's southwest coast, famous for 'The Wall', a long shelf reef dropping to great depth.

La Parguera lies in the municipality of Lajas on Puerto Rico's southwest coast, where the island's continental shelf comes closest to shore. Its signature dive site, 'The Wall', is a shelf reef running more than 20 miles and ranging from about 60 to 1,500 feet in depth. More than 20 charted dive sites in the area include coral-head formations, underwater caves, and steep drop-offs. The surrounding bays and cays are protected as the La Parguera Nature Reserve, established in 1979.
