Black Wall

Also known as: Blackwall · Black Wall Reef

Black Wall is often called the most famous dive of the wall system off La Parguera, and Paradise Scuba names it a favourite with its guests. Its name comes from the black coral that grows thickly from about 24 m down, together with black and red gorgonians and long tube sponges. The wall descends in steps, with a first shelf around 40 to 50 m and a second one far deeper, so the blue water below seems endless. Schools of bar jacks, Atlantic spadefish and black durgons swim along the face, and great barracuda and Caribbean reef sharks are regular visitors. Look into the crevices for lobsters and on the gorgonians for flamingo tongue snails.
