Fallen Rock

Also known as: Falling Rock · La Piedra del Dominicano

Fallen Rock is one of the most requested dives off La Parguera even though the boat ride is long. A huge, coral-covered block has split from a notch in the wall and now forms a pinnacle with sheer drops and trenches on either side. Clouds of chromis hover over the rock, while Caesar grunts, schoolmasters and Spanish hawkfish shelter in the structure. Scuba Diving magazine rates the chances of open-water animals here as high, among them ocean triggerfish, mackerel, jacks, barracuda and spotted eagle rays. Sharks, rays and morays are also reported.
