North Abu Ramada
Where the island ends in the north, a long plateau continues gently downwards, and on its east side it drops into a vertical wall. On the way to the wall divers pass a large coral block at about 15 to 20 m, and just beyond the drop-off a hollow hump hides a spacious cave at about 31 m that chimneys up towards 25 m. The current is usually too strong to moor, so the dive is a drift that ends at the 'Halg', a sheltered neck on the east side where the boat waits. Small reef fish are fewer here, but barracuda, tuna and jacks are common and hammerhead sharks appear now and then. Sadko describes it as one of the more demanding sites of the area.
