South Abu Ramada
Also known as: Abu Ramada South
South of a small islet and three boulders at the southern end of Abu Ramada, a sloping wall falls to about 35 m east of the moorings. A longer swim leads to a bubble-shaped grotto with several openings, filled with soft corals, sweepers, cardinalfish and soldierfish. To the south-west, coral towers stand on a bare, moon-like seabed; the deepest, at about 25 m, is split like an opening clam shell and shelters glasseyes, hatchetfish and sweetlips. Egypt Dive mentions a garden eel field beyond the southern plateau and a small wreck at about 5 m where dives often end. Free-swimming moray eels, bannerfish, napoleon wrasse and squid are common.
