Shaab Petra
The two ergs lie on an east-west axis and rise almost to the surface. The coral block to the east is riddled with holes full of glassfish and hatchetfish, and silversides swarm above it while trevallies hunt them. The larger ergs have caves sheltering squirrelfish, soldierfish and cardinalfish. Moray eels, bannerfish, lionfish and scorpionfish are seen, and turtles are often present on night dives. Shallow and calm, the site is used for beginners and basic training.
