Pedestal Rock

Pedestal Rock is a pinnacle on the exposed south side of Catalina, more like a large rock mound than a spire. Its steep sloping walls are cut by crevices and ledges and lead to a sandy bottom with tube anemones and halibut. Kelp, gorgonians, kelp bass, rockfish, lobsters, sheephead and calico bass are common. Reef Seekers lists it among the backside sites they may dive after Farnsworth Bank.
