Gota Abu Makadi

The name comes from the Arabic word for a piece, which fits the several separate coral pinnacles that rise here from a flat, sandy seabed. The usual route starts at the largest pinnacle and continues to the smaller towers nearby. Each tower has its own anemones with clownfish, moray eels in its crevices and schools of bannerfish. Bluespotted stingrays and flatfish lie on the sand between them, and scorpionfish, nudibranchs and octopus are regular finds. The clear layout makes it a good site for navigation practice and photography.
