Gili Tepekong

Also known as: Tepekong

Tepekong is only about 100 m wide, but its walls drop steeply, on the east side from about 14 m to around 40 m. On the south-west side lies the canyon, which can pull divers down when there is swell and has earned the nickname 'the Toilet'. Currents of up to 5 knots bring schools of bigeye trevally, rainbow runners, sweetlips, batfish and whitetip reef sharks. The more protected north and east slopes have table corals, gullies and boulders with groupers and Napoleon wrasse. Mola mola are seen in season, mainly from July to October.
