Huge granite blocks shaped by erosion form a maze of boulders, passages, small caves and depressions around the summit. The western side drops in vertical walls covered with yellow cluster anemones, while red gorgonians grow in the deeper parts. Big dusky groupers, brown meagre, barracuda and dentex are almost always seen and tend to be confident around divers. Amberjack and bluefin tuna sometimes pass, and eagle rays have been seen more often in recent years. The park has four mooring buoys here, and the shoal is exposed to all winds and often to strong currents.
