Secca di Spargiottello
Also known as: Spargiottello · Secca di Spargiotto · Scoglio di Spargiotto · Secche Spargiotello
The main shoal starts at around 3 to 5 m and is split by a ravine with a sandy floor; its deeper side reaches the sand at about 26 to 27 m. Pinnacles and big boulders around it shelter impressive dusky groupers, and the shaded walls toward the north-west are covered with red gorgonians. Being close to the Strait of Bonifacio, almost any pelagic species can pass, and a small school of barracuda sometimes stays at a smaller shoal to the south. The shallow top is busy with ornate wrasse, painted comber and seabream, which makes the safety stop interesting. Orso Diving describes a second, deeper shoal about 70 m further west.
