The rock lies west of Isola dei Cavoli in zone B of the Capo Carbonara marine protected area, and the ScubaGo description argues that its quality would justify the strictest protection zone. The marine park rates the site of medium to high interest for its scenery and fish, and suitable for beginners. ScubaGo mentions schools of barracuda, large groupers, small nudibranchs, colourful gorgonians and Posidonia meadows. Dives in the protected area are run only with authorised dive centres.
