Il Corno
Also known as: Isola del Corno · Grotta del Corno
The islet falls steeply all round, with volcanic blocks, steep gullies, overhangs and small caves. The north side is the most spectacular, with big patches of encrusting sponges and yellow cluster anemones and many conger eels, seabream, brown meagre, scorpionfish and lobsters. Long-spined Diadema urchins are common here. The south side is easier: from a small shoal at 5 m a long narrow canyon leads south, often in current that brings large schools of seabream and groupers. Visibility is usually excellent and currents can be strong.
