Nereo Cave
Also known as: Grotta di Nereo · Nereo's Cave · Cave of Nereus · Archi di Nereo
The cave was discovered in 1957 by local divers and was then rich in red coral, much of which was later harvested. Entrances open at about 16 to 20 m, among them the arched 'Archi di Nereo', and one deeper entrance lies at about 30 to 32 m. Divers can swim a loop through wide tunnels with white sand, rising into chambers lit from outside, so the route changes with each visit. Groupers, conger eels, lobsters and European lobsters live inside, and the transition zone at the entrances is the habitat of red coral. The inner tunnels are completely dark and need cave procedures, but the outer sections are used for first cave dives with a guide.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
