Grotta del Cabirol
Also known as: Cabirol's Cave · Cave of Cabirol
The deeper part opens at about 15 to 18 m into a hall lit through openings in its ceiling. A chimney leads to a siphon with stalactites, and other passages lead up to an upper level that connects with an air-filled hall. Exposure to the north-west swell keeps encrusting life sparse, and in rough seas the openings near the surface blow jets of water. Seabream, scorpionfish and forkbeards are common, and lobsters and conger eels appear especially at night. The surrounding bay has vertical walls that Capo Galera describes as reaching about 30 m.
