Grotta dei Cirri
Divers reach the cave through a narrow vertical chimney that drops a few metres into a wide chamber. A long breach in one wall lets in intense blue light, so the cave feels like a terrace looking out over the open sea. Sponges, orange coral, cowries, crabs, lobsters and shrimps cover the walls and ceiling, and conger eels and forkbeards hunt inside. The cave is named after small fish called cirri by the islanders. Because of its depth and the overhead environment it is reserved for advanced divers with deep and cave training.
