Iron Bound Cove

Also known as: Ironbound Cove

Iron Bound Cove is a sheltered cove on the south side of the island. Large rocks covered with invertebrates slope steeply to a sandy bottom, with kelp throughout. Sheephead, calico bass, rockfish, gorgonians, octopus and bat rays are common, and sea lions and harbor seals often appear. Dive operators rate it highly for photography.
