Indian Rock
Indian Rock stands in Emerald Bay, which is protected from the prevailing weather and nearly always calm. Shallow reefs west of the rock are good for beginners and snorkellers, while the north side of the main rock steps down to sand at about 18 to 20 m. Large schools of jack mackerel, blacksmith and anchovies are a regular sight, and bat rays and halibut cross the sand. Gorgonians, octopus, morays with cleaner shrimps and many blue-banded gobies make it rewarding for photographers. The area is an invertebrate reserve, so lobsters and abalone may not be taken.
