Motu Mano
Also known as: Motumano · Pointe Motumano
The site is named after a rocky headland at the south-western tip of Nuku Hiva that juts out into the ocean. Below it, large scattered boulders carry cleaning stations that rays and sharks visit, and schools of trevallies, fusiliers and triggerfish patrol the rocks among many moray species and endemic Marquesan fish. The former local dive shop named hammerheads, whitetip reef sharks and manta rays as the main attractions. Nuku Dive takes Level 1 or Open Water divers here and warns that the site and the boat ride are exposed to southern swell and wind, while the former dive shop described the point as sheltered and took divers of all levels.
