Dulcinéa
Also known as: Grottes de Dulcinea
Dulcinéa is a shoal reaching up to the surface, and two tunnels run through it in the shape of an upside-down V. Spiny lobsters and other crustaceans, sea urchins and shells fill the passages, together with schools of cardinalfish and hatchetfish. Close to the exit, soldierfish hang in dense curtains, a scene the former dive centre singled out for photographers. Nuku Dive takes Level 1 or Open Water divers here, and the former centre, which took all levels, saw it as an easy first taste of cave diving. Nuku Dive notes exposure to southern swell.
