Koh Waen Train Wreck

Thai authorities placed the train on the seabed off Koh Waen in 2015 to create a new reef, and the locomotive and its wagons now shelter thousands of reef fish. Yellow fusiliers, pufferfish, porcupinefish and nudibranchs live in and around the cars. Nurse sharks are often found resting under the wreck and stingrays lie in the surrounding sand. Schools of yellowtail and chevron barracuda hunt around the structure, and the island itself offers boulders, overhangs and small caves.
