Koh Haa 4

Also known as: Koh Haa Four

Facing the lagoon, Koh Haa 4 is shallow, sandy and dotted with coral-covered rocks, a good place to learn. On the open-sea side the upper part is a rocky wall full of small caves sheltering crustaceans, nudibranchs, gobies and small rockfish, and below it the sand drops quickly into deeper water. A shallow swim-through rising to about 3 to 4 m crosses the rock and is done at the start of a dive or after the safety stop. Deeper down, coral bommies hold schools of fusiliers and snapper hunted by trevally, and beyond a mooring block lies a large field of garden eels. A school of batfish often hangs in the blue off the outer side, and hawksbill turtles feed on bubble coral.
