Koh Haa 2

Also known as: Koh Haa Two · Japanese Island

On its lagoon side Koh Haa 2 has rocky coral pinnacles where several moray species hide and a hard and soft coral garden between about 3 and 10 m. The seaward side slopes away into one of the liveliest reefs of the area, with old bell-shaped corals, groupers, schools of chevron barracuda and trevally and Kuhl's stingrays on the sand. Green and hawksbill turtles feed on bubble coral, and divers watch the blue because whale sharks forage nearby in season. The whole island can be circled in one dive, and a shallow swim-through through the rock can be used at higher tides after the safety stop. Dragon sea moths, brown-marbled groupers and stonefish are among the smaller finds.
