Twin Peaks Blue Hole
Also known as: Twin Peaks Blue Caves · 雙峰藍洞 (Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan))
Twin Peaks Blue Hole sits next to the Xiao Lao Gu drop-off and owes its name to the two rock peaks that look like mountains in cross-section. Erosion of the reef limestone formed a tunnel about 10 m long that is only wide enough for one diver at a time, and light entering it glows blue. Tube corals cover the roof of the tunnel and anthias gather around its mouth. Large sea fans grow on the walls on both sides, with fleshy and cauliflower-like soft corals on the bottom. The canyon-like terrain often has current and sometimes strong upwellings, so good buoyancy control is needed.
