La Reina
Also known as: La Reyna
La Reina has a small resident group of around 40 California sea lions and a reef rich in gorgonians, brain corals and tropical fish. Below the surface, a canyon covered in sponges and invertebrates adds relief to the dive. Green, zebra and jewel moray eels are common, and turtles and rays pass by. From mid-June to mid-October giant Pacific manta rays move through the area, and operators report several at once on good days. Currents are frequent, and trips usually need a minimum group size and good weather.
