Tasi Tolu

Also known as: Tasitolu

The site takes its name from the three freshwater lakes inland of the beach and lies only 15 to 20 minutes from central Dili. Underwater it is a very gradual sandy slope with a small patch of sponges and soft corals, easy to miss without a guide. That patch hosts seahorses, frogfish, pygmy pipehorses, ghost pipefish and, according to Wikivoyage, even rhinopias. At night burrowing crabs, shrimps and cephalopods such as coconut octopus and bobtail squid come out of the sand. Dugongs are sometimes seen in the seagrass shallows, and divers need to watch their depth on the long, even slope.
