Dili Rock East
Also known as: Dili Rock · Pedra de Dili
The site lies on the long beach past Tasi Tolu, at the foot of Dili Rock, the rocky headland the coastal road cuts through. A sloping ridge runs down beside a sandy bottom, which makes it a favourite for training dives and an easy entry at any tide. Its best-known feature is a big bommie that Wikivoyage calls Piccadilly Circus, where snappers, batfish, hunting trevally and large lionfish gather. Octopus and cuttlefish are common in the shallows, and Dive Timor Lorosae lists ghost pipefish, frogfish, mimic and blue-ringed octopus and even dugong as lucky sightings. The dive can be extended around the headland to Dili Rock West.
