Scoglio Giafante
Also known as: Giafante · Scoglio del Giafante
The stack's name may come from its elephant-foot shape or from the lobsters once found around it. Divers can either circle the stack, where the rare Mediterranean slipper lobster is often seen, or explore a nearby shoal whose top lies at about 16 m and whose base reaches around 42 m. The outer rockfall hides groupers and forkbeards, and spiny lobsters, moray eels and pelagic fish drawn by the damselfish are also reported. Posidonia patches and large boulders surround the rock.
