Capo Testa Grossa

Capo Testa Grossa lies a few hundred metres south of Capo Grosso. Inside the cove north of the cape the rock falls vertically and is crusted with fine sponge colonies. At the point itself the wall becomes a maze of spikes, channels and recesses that continues well below 50 m. Leptopsammia, zoanthids and Eunicella gorgonians grow on the rock, and the slope at the base holds big boulders and two small caverns. Groupers, lobsters, slipper lobsters, moray eels and anthias are reported.
