Grotta dei Gamberi (Salina)

The wall begins half a metre below the surface and stretches for around 100 m, reaching about 30 m. Rich coralligenous growth along its length supports many fish and invertebrates. Its signature is a crevice crowded with thousands of red shrimps, and goldblotch groupers often follow divers at a distance. At night clouds of shrimps accompany the whole dive, together with spider crabs, slipper lobsters and hunting amberjacks and barracuda.
