Faraglione di Pollara
Also known as: Scoglio della Pollara
The bay of Pollara is part of an ancient crater, and the stack in its middle is the focus of an easy dive. Near the surface the rock is split by cracks with moray eels, octopus and small groupers. Deeper the scene changes to dark sand with boulders and Posidonia, where starfish, tube anemones and Astroides add colour and white seabream, wrasse and seabream swim. At the end of the dive red mullet, flatfish, cuttlefish and lizardfish are typical. On the south side of the stack, two ship anchors and a small iron cannon dated to the 1600s rest on the bottom.
