Churchill Barrier 2

Churchill Barrier 2 links Lamb Holm and Glimps Holm, and the blockships sunk in Skerry Sound in both world wars lie beside it. A typical route starts at the engine block of the Lycia and leads past the Ilsenstein and Emerald Wings to the Almeria's propeller and the open box of the floating crane pontoon, which stands clear of the water. Divernet reckons that no other single UK dive takes in so many wrecks. There is no current, though swell can come in from the open sea, and the shallow water makes it suitable for first open-water dives and for snorkelling. Sea hares, wrasse, sand eels and anemones live on the wrecks.
