Almeria

The Almeria was sunk in Skerry Sound in February 1915 and was long confused with the Cape Ortegal until surveys counted only two boilers. Her stern stands about four metres proud of the sandy, rocky seabed, with the propeller and shaft in view. At the stern her wreckage mingles with the Ilsenstein and Emerald Wings, so it is not always clear which ship a piece belongs to. Divers usually reach her on the shore route along the north-east side of the barrier.
